UNIQUE IVA BITTOVÁ AND INTERNATIONALLY RESPECTED BOW QUARTET

SLOVAK SONGS – SONGS BY BÉLA BARTÓK ADDAPTED BY VLADIMÍR GODÁR.

An album "Slovak songs" offering pieces from Hungarian composer and collector Béla Bartók adapted by Slovak composer Vladimír Godár was released five years ago. This album has not been performed on the stage many times so that Iva Bittová is coming back to it, but to make it new, she invited Slovak Mucha Quartet to add folk adaptations of songs by Leoš Janáček, Alexander Moyzes, and Eugen Suchoň. An internationally respected quartet is formed by: Juraj Tomka (violin), Andrej Baran (violin), Veronika Prokešová (viola), and Pavol Mucha (violoncello). environmentally oriented lyrics provide also their opinion. Their relation to nature is emphasized by inviting the choir Grunik from Ostravice, the region connected with the Beskydy mountains, their beauty, and music.
