LADY MAISERY by Somhairle Macdonald

LADY MAISERY (GREAT BRITAIN)

BITTERSWEET FOLK BEAUTY

STARS OF FOLK HANNAH JAMES, HAZEL ASKEW AND ROWAN RHEINGANS

Lady Maisery are an English folk vocal harmony trio composed of Hannah James (vocals, piano accordion, foot percussion), Hazel Askew (vocals, melodeon, concertina, harp, bells) and Rowan Rheingans (vocals, fiddle, banjo). Hannah James, Hazel Askew and Rowan Rheingans. After the time spent away from one another on solo endeavours, with other groups and in other art forms brought about a realization of the importance that making music together is one of the band’s great strengths.
Lady Maisery return with Tender, their first studio album in six years. The band’s combined talents of Hazel Askew, Hannah James and Rowan Rheingans (individually three of the most accomplished and adventurous artists in modern folk) have created a musically and manifestly personal record that reaches far beyond their previous work. The album explores the power of vulnerability and the strength in kindness; these are songs that acknowledge our collective wounds while striving forward with hope for the future.
