A SINGER-SONGWRITER FROM BRNO IMMERSED IN AUTUMN ATMOSPHERE
With some singer-songwriters, you can imagine their lyrics living independently from the music. In the case of Brno-based artist Lucie Krpalová, who performs under the name Prune, it’s not that her songs couldn’t stand alone — but without the music, they might lose their essence as a “warm companion for cold and drizzly autumn days.”
Her songs, sung in English, have the character of a film soundtrack, evoking a feeling that we’re not just listening — we’re also watching “as helicopters chase life on the weekends.”
Her album Fire owes much to a number of contributing musicians, but above all to Swedish multi-instrumentalist Christoffer Strandh, who also accompanies Prune in live performances.
