THREE WORLD MUSIC PERSONALITIES IN A TRADITIONAL FESTIVAL PROJECT

MEHDI AMINIAN, MARIAN FRIEDL & PETRA NACHTMANOVÁ AND FRIENDS

Hurdy-gurdies, harps, violins and, for example, flutes last years. Musicians rehearsed for a week and then performed on the stage in a unique project. We could just try to imagine what was going to be performed, however, the instruments gave us a clue. This year it is more difficult to discover what is going to happen on the stage because it is not about instruments but more about the background of the performers. Just think about it: a ney flute player Mehdi Aminian prefers Iran music, a multi-instrumentalist Marian Friedl probably music from the Beskydy region, but he is hard to predict, and Petra Nachtmanová with a lute saz, poetic songs and Ashik traditions. They will be accompanied by a percussion player Nora Thiele and a double bass player Helene Glüxa who perform jazz one day, classical music the other day and music from the Middle East just for a change.
