THE FOLK HOLIDAYS ORCHESTRA
WHERE MUSIC IS LIFE, COMMUNITY AND CELEBRATION
Th
During the very first concert by the Folk Holidays Orchestra, it was the parents who showed the greatest excitement — phones in hand, capturing the moment their children stood on the same stage where major stars had performed just before. But in the concerts that followed, the whole audience was clapping wildly.
What began as a charming idea to give kids a chance has grown into something much more. Conductors — mandolinist Martin Krajíček and German fiddlers Vivien Zeller and Ursula Suchanek — have gradually moved toward more demanding pieces with sophisticated arrangements. With the arrival of international guests, the line between amateurs and professionals has all but disappeared.
This year, once again, all registered participants can look forward to a week of rehearsals — but also to working alongside star performers, learning something new, and finally taking the stage with them. No stress, just joy — because music, after all, is above all else life, community, and celebration.
